Certain work environments have greater risks of injury and illness, due to the nature of the work being performed accidents, injuries, emergency medical situations can happen anywhere, anytime where highly toxic or corrosive chemicals are stored or used, first aider, first aid kit and facilities should be provided.
The importance of an effective workplace safety and health program cannot be overemphasized. There are many benefits from such a program including increased productivity, improved employee morale, reduced absenteeism and illness, and reduced workers' compensation rates; however, incidents still occur in spite of efforts to prevent them. Therefore, proper planning for emergencies is necessary to minimize employee injury and property damage.

FIRST AID TRAINING
First aid is the immediate care given to the victim of an accident or sudden illness before the arrival of a qualified expert. The purpose of First aid is to preserve life, assist recovery, prevent aggravation and minimize complications at a later date with the help of such material as may be available.
An effective response within the first few minutes can make a crucial difference between life and death or permanent disability to the victim. Through First Aid Training you will learn the critical priorities for saving lives and how to prevent further injury in the absence of professional medical care
Training is important to the effectiveness of an emergency plan. Before implementing an emergency action plan, a sufficient number of persons must be trained to assist in the safe and orderly evacuation of employees. Training for each type of disaster response is necessary so that employees know what actions are required.
Every employee needs to know details of the emergency action plan, including evacuation plans, alarm systems, reporting procedures for personnel, shutdown procedures, and types of potential emergencies. Drills should be held at random intervals, at least annually, and include, if possible, outside police and fire authorities.
Training must be conducted initially, when new employees are hired, and at least annually. Additional training is needed when new equipment, materials, or processes are introduced, when procedures have been updated or revised, or when exercises show that employee performance is inadequate.
